It was on the "days out' checklist - we've done it now. It was great that there's a park outside - perfect if you have a toddler as you know full well they'll want to play - but half of it was boarded off and broken - why? Fix it?ĭon't bother with the gift shop unless you're wadded. Honestly felt like I'd travelled back in time a little bit. You can kinda tell whoever owns it has a 'it'll do' attitude as it's all a bit drab. The place really does need some money spending on it to spruce it up a bit. Car parking was £2.75 that you pay before visiting - annoying when you get there to see the barriers up so it could have been free. Take your own food as the dining area is an absolute rip off (£8 for a baguette, £26 for a pizza meal deal) - luckily we knew this before visiting. The only plus side is my 3 year old loved it and that's really all that mattered. It cost us around £75 for the four of us which is steep considering - it's free for under 90cm but my daughter is very tall. You'll see from other reviews it's quite expensive. (Of course you can't stroke the sting rays anymore etc). I remember coming here as a child around 20 years ago and I'm not sure if anything has actually changed. We visited with a 3 year old and 10 month old. Seriously need to get a grip on reality charging those prices for both entry and food. Wish we had read reviews, saved our money and just gone home! To add insult to injury the whole attraction was over with in an hour and a half - £58 (would have been £70+ with child ticket) was another slap in the face. No beans, no side, no drink included or anything. What an abomination, whilst the chicken was nice - 2 small strips and a scoop of frozen chips that had been over cooked. We shared a child’s chicken strips and chips (£6.00). We thought we were being had, so much so we asked the staff if we were missing the joke to which we were met with a stony ‘no, our prices reflect inflation’ - on what flipping planet?! I run a high end cafe and certainly doesn’t cost £8.80 to make a chicken and mayo baguette even if I laced it in edible gold!!! Even Domino’s don’t charge £26 for a pizza! Inflation what? Inflation of the ego of the idiot who created these prices is what! But idiots will pay it still and so they can continue to charge such vile prices. Try £8.80 for a chicken and mayo BAGUETTE. How so, I hear you ask? Try £26 for an 11” pizza and some frozen chips. in fact, they chuckle in the very face of that. Cost of living crisis?! Nah, doesn’t exist to the big bosses at Blue Planet. We know these places charge more than the average for their food however this has to be the biggest joke I’ve ever come across. We were starving after having had the long journey so went to the restaurant. We found a kids-go-free deal (thank god because £27 per adult was already a rip off). After spending 3 hours driving to Chester zoo to be turned away due to over-capacity(?!), we decided to bring little one here as it was only 10 mins away.
